Community-Based Resource Mapping: Caraga Region, S. Philippines

The only map you can buy in a shop
is this NAMRIA 'Army map' from 1:50,000 topographical of circa 1950

It takes a 400km round trip and three days to buy one locally,
and it lacks detail like the National Highway, roads, placenames and a kilometre grid.

Although very accurate relatively,
modern georeferencing software and GPS reveal that its basic calibration is more than 100 metres out.

And during the course of half a century,
the coastline and rivers have changed, by erosion.
